While in San Diego this summer, Grace arranged for a professional photographer to take some photos at the beach. There are a lot of photos in this photostream, and there are some really great ones of everyone.

Lombardi/Burroughs/Vorhees Pictures at the Beach
Pictures from 2007
If there are any photos that you want a hardcopy of, you can order them through flickr. I've saved all of the photos in their original size, so clarity should not be an issue.
Hermosa Beach
Our "big" vacation ended with a couple of days in Hermosa Beach. We stayed at a beach house, one block from the Strand and everyone had a great time in the water, riding bikes and enjoying the big beaches in Southern California.
Quinn learned to bodysurf and Reese built sandcastles. Cousin Like the true Southern California boy he is, Jake enjoyed the sand and surf.

American Girl Store in LA
After Disneyland, we headed to Hermosa Beach for 4 days. On the first day, the girls headed out to the American Girl store in LA. The girls did chores for 2 months so that they could save up enough money to buy their 2nd American Girl doll.
Quinn got the Jessie, this year's "doll of the year," and Reese got a "just like me" doll. Their dolls were definitely the toys that they played with all summer!

Disneyland Trip
Our "big" summer trip included a stop at 2 day stop at Disneyland with the Vorhees (Tommy, Grace and Jake) and Grandma and Papa. The last time we were at Disneyland was 2 years ago, so the girls definitely enjoyed different aspects this time around.
Quinn was very interested in going on "big kid" rides . . . she pretty much went on every big ride, including Splash Mountain (twice), Indian Jones, Space Mountain and a couple of roller coasters.
Reese's favorite rides were Its a Small World and The Winnie the Pooh ride. We split up a bit so that everyone got to enjoy their rides. It was a tiring two days, but the kids had a great time.
When you have some time, check out our photo album from Disneyland, it has 79 shots from our 2 days at the park. Lots of fun!
Father's Day Hike
We celebrated Father's Day with Aunt Ally and Uncle Steve Pfaffle by taking a hike up to the Pleasanton Ridge. It was pretty hot, but Quinn did a great job hanging in there (Reese decided to stay home with Grandma).
Later that day, we caught up with Uncle David and Aunt Julia for a BBQ at the Benjamin's.

Quinn's Rumpus in the Rainforest
Quinn's 1st grade recital was the Rumpus in the Rainforest. Didn't get a lot of great shots, but here is a picture of Quinn and her good friend, Julia Wood.
See some more shots of Quinn and her friends at the recital
Reese Preschool Musical
Reese concluded her preschool career with a musical that celebrated Mother's and Father's Day. The kids sang music from around the world.
Reese has turned into quite a performer and she even got to play the drums! She really enjoyed herself and we are very proud of how she grew in her last year at preschool. To think, at the beginning of the year, she didn't recognize any of the letters of the alphabet. At the end of the year, she was reading where Quinn was at the end of Kindergarten! She grew up a lot this year and is looking forward to Kindergarten

Quinn Dance Recital
Quinn did a fabulous job at her dance recital this year. Quinn changed to jazz class this year and she did very well in jazz. Quinn has great balance and excellent attention to detail . . . she was asked to join the advanced dance class, which dances each year at Disneyland, but the time commitment was too much.
Some more pictures of Quinn looking like a dancer!
Reese Dance Recital
Reese really enjoyed her dance class this year, and it was all topped off with a recital in Livermore. Reese did an excellent job at the rectial - she was line leader and didn't miss a step!
Reese had a full house . . . Grammy, Pappap, Grandma, Papa, Aunt Bonnie, Uncle John, GG Janice all made special appearances.
Afterwards, we all went out to dinner at Uncle Yu's followed by ice cream cake at our house.

Indian Princesses Camp at Loma Mar
- two hikes
- archery
- rock climbing wall
- zip line
- making tie dye shirts
- tribe skits
It was great to hang out with all the dads and girls in a really cool setting. Tons of huge redwoods and fresh air. Oh yeah, and there are plenty of banana slugs, which for some reason the girls like to dare each other to kiss. Quinn kissed 3 or 4 banana slugs, earning her rite of passage . . .
See more action shots of Quinn rock climbing, shooting a bow and going on a hike.
Mother's Day 2007
Afterwards we went to the Livermore Valley Winery, where we listened to a few tunes from a local band and grabbed some great shots of Quinn and Reese . . .
Spring Break in Medford, OR
As always it was great to see the Berryessa's, and they always have a lot going on. It's a bit like the Lombardi household circa 1985 . . . lots going on . . . lots of people running around. And, as if there wasn't enough going on, Don and Sheri invited a foreign exchange student to stay with them.
It was good to see Baby Xavier and the girls had a blast at the gym. Quinn and Reese both took gymnastic's classes, swam in the pool and explored the gym during open gym (both the official open gym and the private open gym they were lucky enough to have). Also, Quinn took a hip-hop dance class. Reese summed up the weekend with her famous quote (now used by Don when marketing the gym), "Daddy, this is my best life ever!".

Enjoy some shots from Easter . . .

We took Quinn and Reese to Oaks Christian church in Dublin. They had a 50,000 egg hunt on their football field. It was pretty crazy as over 1,000 kids ran rampant collecting eggs . . . Quinn and Reese got to enjoy facepainting, jumpy houses, a magic show and lunch - all for FREE.
Trip to the Oakland Zoo
Shawna took the girls to the Oakland Zoo for a Saturday afternoon in the sun.

Lengyel's stop by on their way to Hawaii
Bonnie and Dan (who lived across the street from us in Thousand Oaks) stopped by on their way to a family vacation to Hawaii. Bonnie called Shawna on a Friday afternoon and said "we're in town" and they came on over . . .
The girls really enjoyed seeing Nichole and Alex, who know live in Dallas.
Here are a couple more shots from their quick visit:

Half Moon Bay in Feb ?!?!
We took advantage of the long President's Day Weekend by heading out to Half Moon Bay for a couple of days of fun. Amazingly, it was in the high 60's/low 70's when we got there. Quinn and Reese both took to the beach immediately.
Quinn jumped right into her bathing suit and started splashing around in the waves. Reese didn't go in the water, but she also warmed up and they both started writing things in the sand.
As dusk closed in, we grabbed some dinner and then spent the night in a hotel. Tried to hit the beach again in the morning, but the cold weather had returned, so we hung out for a bit in downtown Half Moon Bay and then returned home.

Nice to be able to grab a quick family retreat, with minimal planning (we didn't even have hotel reservations until 2PM) and a short 45 minute drive.
Quinn and Daddy at the Father Daughter Dance
Quinn and I went to our second annual Father Daughter dance on Valentine's weekend 2007. Quinn was a veteran this year, so we had to step it up a notch - no more Old Navy dresses for Quinn, this one came from the Limited.
We had a great time dancing the night away. Quinn hung out with Julia Tolari and Julia Wood and the Dads from the Seneca tribe enjoyed the evening with their princesses.
